Although I have had this mower professionally serviced before now it has always been quite a long winded (and expensive) operation involving the service centre (“Cheltenham Mowers”) dispatching a van to both pick up and then re-deliver the mower after the work has been done. On this occasion the mower blade had become warped as a result of “mowing a piece of metal” and I decided to see what I could do to bring the mower back to life myself (in truth the blade still spins but catches on the surrounding carrier sounding extremely unhealthy!)
I had previously bought a basic “lifting device” as a result of a previous mower requiring some work – and it has proved to be invaluable:

From here I used a spanner to remove the blade (it was a tough job!) I have ordered a replacement from Amazon (deciding to go for a genuine part rather than a generic one)
